DC Announces Absolute Justice Event at NYCC 2026!
Big news straight out of New York Comic Con! DC Comics has officially announced the first major event miniseries for the Absolute Universe: Absolute Justice, landing in April 2027!
Here is everything you need to know about what's coming to our pulls:
The Creative Team & Vision
- Writer: Jason Aaron
- Artist: Juan Ferreyra
- Co-Architect Input: Scott Snyder praised Jason Aaron as a key co-architect of the Absolute Universe, revealing that Aaron is collaborating directly with individual Absolute title writers to ensure character voices remain authentic throughout the event.
What is Absolute Justice About?
The storyline promises to plunge deep into the dark lore of the Absolute Universe. DC teased the event at NYCC with a chilling tagline:
"From the darkness, a new world of heroes rose. And with them came hope. That was a mistake. The true rulers of this world have one message for you: Abandon all hope."
Reader & Collector Friendly Strategy
DC's Absolute Group Editor, Chris Conroy, reassured fans and retailers that this crossover is designed to be accessible and reader-friendly:
- No Confusion: It will be easy for new and returning readers to follow without needing a massive reading map.
- No Story Disruptions: The miniseries won't derail or disrupt the ongoing storylines in individual Absolute titles.
- Expanding the Canvas: Similar to how Absolute Evil spawned the popular Absolute Green Arrow, this full event miniseries aims to naturally expand the universe—all building toward an eventual Absolute Crisis down the road!
