Hasbro has revealed an exciting new direction for Star Wars: Black Series, including brand-new packaging and a six-figure Saga Wave that will kick off the 2027 mainline!
The new packaging was first revealed with Queen Amidala at San Diego Comic-Con, and the figure will be the first entry in this new six-figure format. Each Saga Wave will feature characters drawn from across the six main Star Wars films, giving collectors a mix of classic and prequel-era characters in a single assortment.
The First 2027 Saga Wave
Queen Amidala – The Phantom Menace
The wave begins with Queen Amidala from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. The figure features a soft-goods outfit, with a fully articulated figure underneath.
Padawan Anakin Skywalker – Attack of the Clones
Next up is Padawan Anakin Skywalker from Attack of the Clones. This figure includes a Force-push helmet, soft-goods outer tunic, a newly designed belt, a Force-push hand and a moving lightsaber blade effect.
Galactic Marine – Revenge of the Sith
The third figure brings the prequel era forward with the Galactic Marine, adding another distinctive clone trooper design to the Black Series lineup.
Luke Skywalker – A New Hope
Representing the original trilogy is Luke Skywalker in his iconic X-Wing pilot outfit from A New Hope.
IG-88 – The Empire Strikes Back
The fifth figure is the deadly bounty hunter IG-88 from The Empire Strikes Back, bringing one of the classic bounty hunters back to the Black Series mainline.
Tessek (Squid Head) – Return of the Jedi
Rounding out the six-figure assortment is Tessek, better known to many collectors as Squid Head, from Return of the Jedi.
Preorders Open October 15
This new Saga Wave will serve as the first mainline Black Series wave of 2027 and introduces a new format designed to celebrate characters from across the six primary Star Wars films.
Preorders are scheduled to open October 15 at 1:00 PM ET.
